        SEGREGATIONS LAPSING PROCEDURES OVERVIEW

Lapsing of segregations is part of the Appropriation Lapsing Program described in Section 4.4400 of this manual.  The Lapsing Program selects and lapses all appropriation records with a designated lapse date.  All the segregation records of the lapsed appropriation records are marked as lapsed by the Lapsing Program, and their status becomes inactive.

The program calculates the unencumbered amounts and places it in the lapsed unencumbered balance field.  It also moves the encumbered amount to a lapsed encumbrance field.  Zeros are placed in the encumbered amount filed and a report is generated.
