On April 23, 1997, the CAS Sign-On Screen and the Sign-Off command are scheduled to be modified.
The modified screen will have two new fields: GROUP ID and LANGUAGE. Do not enter any data in these new fields. Continue to enter ID in the USER ID field, password in the PASSWORD field and, when necessary, a new password in the NEW PASSWORD field.
CAS users that currently have to enter CSSN to sign on will need to enter CESN to sign on.
You can exit the new Sign-On Screen at any time by pressing the PF3 key.
If an error occurs on the new Sign-On Screen, such as entry of an invalid password, an error message will display, followed by the redisplay of the Sign-On Screen. This will allow the user to correct the mistake or exit using PF3.
The command to sign off of the CAS will be changed to CESF LOGOFF from CSSF LOGOFF. When the new Sign-On Screen is implemented, the old sign off will no longer be valid. Agencies should inform all of their CAS users of this new sign off command.
The current sign off procedure is printed near the bottom of page 3 of Accounting Bulletin A-374. When the new Sign-On Screen is implemented the revised sign off procedure should read:
The sequence to sign off will be as follows:
1. Use established procedures necessary to clear the screen
2. Type CESF LOGOFF.
3. Press ENTER key.
Please note this change on your copy of Accounting Bulletin A-374.
