Selecting the Correct Procurement Method (BOC 102)
A variety of procurement methods are available for use by State agencies. Participants will gain an overview of the procurement methodologies that are available and when to use each method. Methodologies covered include: competitive bids (invitations for bid and requests for proposal), grants, sole and single source procurements, piggyback contracts, discretionary purchasing, preferred sources, use of the Office of General Services’ centralized contracts, mini-bids, architect and engineering, construction, emergency purchases, and printing contracts. Selecting the correct contract vehicle is also discussed, including the use of purchase orders, purchase authorizations, contract agreements, and AC-340 forms.
