New Deduction Codes

Purpose

To explain the new deduction codes and continuation of certain insurances

Affected Employees

Employees in Bargaining Unit 01

Effective Dates

Checks dated 9/1/99 for Administration payroll Checks dated 9/9/99 for Institution payroll

Specifics

Three new insurance programs have been approved by the union representing employees in Bargaining Unit 01 (NYSCOPBA). The new insurance programs are:

NYSCOPBA Short Term Disability
NYSCOPBA Life
NYSCOPBA Accidental Death

These insurance programs are administered by the First Unum insurance company.

OSC has also been notified by NYSCOPBA that the union has entered into a one-year agreement with Jardine to continue to provide the following insurance to its members:
auto/home (code 368)
perm life (code 369)

OSC had previously canceled codes 368 and 369 for Administration checks dated 8/18/99. Institution employees were not affected.

OSC Actions

OSC will automatically restart the deduction for Administration checks dated 9/1/99. Jardine will compute an adjusted deduction for the remaining pay periods in 1999 for Administration employees who did not have a deduction for checks dated 8/18/99.
