Date Issued
August 31, 2005

Purpose

To provide agencies with the changes in Contract Pay for 21P Institution Teachers.

Affected Employees

Teachers in Pay Basis Code 21P in the following agencies:

  • Department of Correctional Services
  • Office of Mental Health
  • School for the Blind
  • School for the Deaf
  • Office of Children and Family Services.

Effective Date(s)

Beginning of the academic year for each agency

Background

Institution Teachers with the Pay Basis Code 21P are paid through the Contract Pay Process in PayServ. The contract dates for the academic year for each agency are stored on the Department Table in PayServ. PayServ automatically populates the USA/CAN Contract Pay page when an employee is Hired, Rehired, Concurrently Hired, Transferred or when a Position change is entered effective the first day of the contract date or later.

PayServ will now also automatically populate the contract pay page when an employee remains active in the same agency during the summer and returns for the next academic year.

Eligibility

Institution Teachers with a Pay Basis Code of 21P in BU 05 or 06 who have remained active in the same agency during the summer and have no change effective the first day of the new contract date.

OSC Actions

OSC will automatically populate the USA/CAN Contract Pay page with the contract dates for employees who remain active in the same agency during the summer.

Contract dates are provided to OSC by the agency’s main office.

OSC will start up Location Pay (LMH, LOC or LOM) automatically with the effective date of the beginning of the contract, as long as there was a previous row on the Additional Pay page with the earn end date of last year’s contract end date.

Agency Actions

The agency will no longer need to enter contract dates for employees who remain active in the same agency during the summer.
