Purpose

To provide agencies with information regarding a new bargaining unit and new titles.

Background

Pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement between the City University of New York and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Union, Local One, a new bargaining unit (TI) and new titles, identified below, were established effective November 27, 2003.

Refer to Carmelo Batista's forthcoming memorandum regarding negotiated work rules, terms and conditions.

NOTE: A list of the new Earnings Codes for each earn program is attached. An explanation regarding the new earn codes is also attached.

Agency Actions

CUNY Administration will set up the positions for the titles using the new job codes, earnings programs, holiday schedule, union code, bargaining unit, and benefit program.

Job Information:

Employees cannot be hired into these positions before 11/27/03. The agency must use the HIRE action with a reason of APT, effective on the appropriate appointment date.

Use the following deduction and benefit data when submitting transactions:

Confirm that '9' (No Coverage) is the Benefit Flag field on the Work Location page.

Enter Benefit Program 'TIA', effective on the date of the hire on the Benefit Program Participation page.

All employees in these positions are required to pay union dues. Agencies must enter the Union Dues deduction code 464 on the employee's General Deduction page effective on the date of the hire. The calculation routine is 'Default to Deduction Table.'

NOTE: The Union dues deduction amount will be 4% of the biweekly gross. No Agency Shop fee will be deducted for these employees.
