| Purpose | To explain the process for entering deduction codes 443 and 445 for 2001 |

| OSC Automatic Processing | OSC has inserted an end date on the general deduction table if none was previously entered by the agencies, for all employees with a deduction code of 443 or 445. This action prevents the deduction from restarting automatically for calendar year 2001. |
| Agency Actions | At the start of the year, agencies must reenter these deductions using the beginning of the period as an effective date. For Lag agencies the effective date is 12/14/2000 and for Current agencies the effective date is 12/28/2000. When entering deduction codes 443 or 445, also enter an end date on the panel. For Lag agencies the end date entered must be 12/12/2001 and for Current agencies the end date must be 12/26/2001. This action automatically end dates the transaction for the next calendar year. The end date must be entered even though a goal amount is also entered on the panel. |
