Subject Holiday Pay for Carpenters
Purpose To explain new procedure for paying holiday pay
Affected Employees Carpenter and Carpenter (CUNY)
Effective Date All holiday payments for holidays occurring after March 1, 2002, are to be paid using the new method.
Background Refer to Carmelo Batista, Jr.'s memorandum, dated 3/1/02, that identifies the following change in the calculation of holiday payments for Carpenter titles.

If an employee works on a paid holiday, the employee is eligible for the following:
Payment in cash at the holiday rate for the hours actually worked,
AND
The rate of pay, at straight time, for the number of hours in a regular workday.

Note: The straight time payment is included in the "normal" bi-weekly gross.
Revised Rate Chart A new rate chart, reflecting the new rate and new earnings code HPG (Hol Pay-2.0 CUNY Skl Labor), will be faxed to agencies.
