Subject	Prepaid Legal Service Benefit
Purpose	To explain processing of Prepaid Legal Service Benefit for tax purposes.
Affected Employees	Employees in the bargaining units listed below who will receive a paycheck or direct deposit advice dated December 11,2003.
Effective Date	Checks dated December 24, 2003.
Specifics	Listed are the bargaining units, value of prepaid legal benefit and the earnings codes being applied for benefit year 2003: Union   Value Earn Code Teamsters Local 237  $62.49 PL1 (Bargaining units SB,  SE, SL, SM, SP, ST, SU, SV, SW, SX, SZ, TS, TT) SEIU Local 300  $78.00 PL2 (Bargaining Unit S6) District Council 37  $70.00 PL3 (Bargaining Units SF,  SJ, T9, TG, TH, TJ,  TK,TL, TM, TO, TP,   TR, TU, TX, U3, U6) SEIU Local 246   $53.49 PL4 (Bargaining Unit T1) This is a taxable benefit that will be automatically applied for tax purposes only in the last paycheck of the 2003 calendar year. The benefit will be based on the employee's bargaining unit on December 11, 2003.
Agency Action	Notify affected employees.
Payroll register and Employee Paycheck/Advice	The applicable earn code and the amount will be displayed on the payroll register and the employee's check or direct deposit advice.
