Prepaid Legal Service Benefit for CUNY Employees

Purpose

To explain processing of the Prepaid Legal Service Benefit for tax purposes for the 2005 calendar year.

Affected Employees

Employees in the bargaining units listed below who receive a paycheck or direct deposit advice dated November 23, 2005 and who did not have the benefit applied on October 13, 2005.

Effective Date(s)

Paychecks dated December 8, 2005.

OSC Actions

OSC will automatically apply the Prepaid Legal Service Benefit for the calendar year 2005. Listed below are the bargaining units, the value of the Prepaid Legal Benefit and the Earnings Codes:

The value of the Prepaid Legal Benefit will be automatically applied for tax purposes for the 2005 calendar year.

Notify affected employees.

Control-D Report

The NPAY771 – Time Entry Payment Report will be available after the automatic payment is processed on November 28, 2005. Fields on this report include EmplID, Empl Rcd, Name, Earn Code, Grade, Barg Unit, Part-Time% and Amount.

The applicable Earnings Code and the value will be displayed on the payroll register and the employee’s paycheck stub or direct deposit advice.
