Purpose

To provide information regarding this procedural change.

Affected Employees

Employees represented by Bargaining Unit 67 in the Division of Housing and Community Renewal

Background

Pursuant to Chapter 111 of the Laws of 2006 which provides for a change to the rules governing Longevity Payments for employees represented by Bargaining Unit 67 in the Division of Housing and Community Renewal.

Effective Date(s)

The new provisions are effective April 1, 2004.

Payments may be submitted by the agency beginning in Pay Period 15L, paychecks dated 11/15/06.

Contract Provisions

Under the new provisions of Chapter 111 of the Laws of 2006, the employees represented by Bargaining Unit 67 will now be eligible to receive their five (5) and ten (10) year Longevity Payments effective on the first day of the pay period which next begins following the employee's anniversary date where the employee reaches five (5) or ten (10) years of continuous service at or above the Job Rate of their position.

Agency Actions

Beginning in Pay Period 15L, the agency may submit Longevity Payments for eligible employees who received a five (5) or ten (10) year Longevity Payment effective 4/1/04 or later and who are eligible to receive earlier effective dates based on the new provisions.

The agency must submit a Pay Request using the Action/Reason of PAY/LGP (Longevity Payment). The agency must also request pay rate changes to update any subsequent existing Job Data rows using the Action/Reason codes PAY/CSL (Correct Salary).
