Purpose

To notify agencies of the procedures for processing Productivity Gain Payments

Affected Employees

Troopers in Bargaining Unit 07 and Commissioned/Non-Commissioned Officers in Bargaining Unit 17

The payment will be processed in a separate check in payroll period 16 Lag, check dated 11/20/02

Contract Provisions/Eligibility Criteria/Payment Information

Employees who meet all of the following criteria are eligible for a Productivity Gain payment as described below.

  • Active in the bargaining unit on 4/1/01 and
  • Have 120 days of service during the determination period in either or both bargaining units.

Payment amounts:

  • Employees who have used 3 or less days of sick leave during the fiscal year 4/1/01 through 3/31/02 are eligible for a payment of $1400.
  • Employees who have used more than 3 and no more than 5 days during the fiscal year 4/1/01 through 3/31/02 are eligible for a payment of $700.
  • The amount of the payment will be reduced by 1/12thof the original payment for each 30 calendar day period of leave without pay during the determination period.

Employees on all Military Leave Status categories during the program year will be considered in full pay status for the purpose of the Productivity Gain Program and are eligible for the payment.

The Productivity Gain Payment is pensionable and used in the calculation of overtime.

Agency Procedure

The following earn codes, effective 04/01/02, must be used for reporting payment information on the Additional Pay panel:

  • PGP (Productivity Gain Payment): Use to report the amount of the Productivity Gain Payment. This is the amount that will be used in the calculation of overtime.
Reporting the Earn Code PGP (Productivity Gain Payment) on the Additional Pay Panel:
Earnings Code: Enter the Earn Code PGP
Effective Date: 04/01/02
OT Eff Date: 10/24/02
Annual Addl Earnings: Enter the total amount of PGP earnings.
Earn End Date: 10/22/03
Current Goal Balance: Leave Blank

Use the dates stated above for both active and inactive employees.

Additional Payment Information

The PGP will be paid in a separate check.

There will be no direct deposit for this payment.

The earnings code PGP, will appear on the payroll register. The earnings description, Productivity Gain Payment, will appear on the employee's check stub.
