Subject Permanent Rank of Sergeant Payment for Employees Represented by the NYS Police Investigators Association (NYSPIA)
Purpose To notify the Division of State Police of the procedure for processing the 2004-2005 payment.

Investigators and Senior Investigators in Bargaining Unit 62.

Background

Chapter 8 of the Laws of 2001 provides for a $200.00 Lump Sum Payment to each member holding the rank of Sergeant.

Effective
Date		 Payments are to be made in the employee's regular check for Pay Period 8L/9C dated July 28, 2004 .

Eligible Employees on Leave Without Pay are entitled to the payment upon return to the payroll.

 

The amount of the Lump Sum Payment is not included in the calculation of overtime, but is included as salary for retirement purposes.

Payroll Register and Employee's Paycheck/Advice

The Earn Code SGB will be displayed on the payroll register.   The earnings description “Sergeant Backup” will appear on the employee's pay stub or direct deposit advice.
