Purpose |
To notify the Division of State Police of the procedure
for processing the 2005-2006 payment. |

Background |
Chapter 8 of the Laws of 2001 provides for a $200.00 Lump Sum Payment
to each member holding the rank of Sergeant. |

Effective Date(s) |
Payments are to be made in the employee’s regular
paycheck or direct deposit advice for Pay Period 6L/7C dated June 29,
2005. |

Agency Processing Instructions |
The $200.00 Lump Sum Payment is processed through the Time Entry page as follows:
Eligible Employees on Leave Without Pay are entitled to the payment upon return to the payroll. The amount of the Lump Sum Payment is not included in the calculation
of overtime, but is included as salary for retirement purposes. |

Payroll Register and Employee’s Paycheck/Advice |
The Earn Code SGB will be displayed on the payroll register. The earnings
description “Sergeant Backup” will appear on the employee’s
paycheck stub or direct deposit advice. |
