Travel Reimbursement Rates for 2011/2012
Effective for Travel on or after October 1, 2011
The United States General Services Administration has announced the domestic maximum per diem rates for the 2011/2012 fiscal year. New York State uses the per diem rates established by the Federal Government. The increased lodging rates will be effective on October 1, 2011. In locations where the per diem rate decreased, reductions to maximum rates will not be in effect until November 1, 2011.
Per Diem Rates
- Maximum travel per diem rates for current and prior years for the continental United States are available at the General Service Administration (GSA) Website: Per Diem Rates
- Any area that is not specifically listed is assigned the standard CONUS (Continental United States) per diem rate. The standard rate in effect is $77 for lodging and $46 for meals and incidentals.
- This site also provides a link to the FedRooms website which provides resources to help government employees find rooms at the per diem rate ( http://www.gsa.gov/portal/category/27087 ).
- In addition, maximum travel per diem rates for foreign areas can be found at the Department of State's website at: http://aoprals.state.gov/web920/per_diem.asp
If there are circumstances that justify the need to exceed these rates, an agency has the authority to grant a waiver to the rates. While the State Comptroller's Office does not need to approve these waivers, we will retain the right to review an agency's documentation of these exceptions and will not accept unreasonable waivers.
