State University Construction Fund

Contract with Hudson Design (Follow-Up Review)

The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) contracts with architects and engineers to design and oversee construction projects for the State University of New York. In our prior audit report 2001-S-29, we examined the process used in awarding a contract to Hudson Design to perform a study relating to a facility at the State University College at Old Westbury. At the time of our audit, the circumstances surrounding the award of the contract were being investigated by the State Inspector General’s Office. Our audit identified significant weaknesses in SUCF’s contract award process, and recommended that certain improvements be made in the process. In our follow-up review, we found that our recommendations had generally been implemented.
