Additional Prohibited Interests in Nassau County

There are certain prohibitions that apply only to Nassau County. Members of municipal governing boards there are prohibited from having interest in real property located within the County that is developed or operated by certain membership corporations whose original purposes were to:

  • Develop publically owned land for industrial, commercial, residential, or public uses
  • Conduct studies pertaining to such lands for economic development purposes
  • Provide job training and other means of increasing employment
  • Engage in public/private partnerships for the development of public lands.
