Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our audit was to assess the Authority’s payroll process for the period April 1, 2013 through May 31, 2014.

Background

The Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority is located in the City of Schenectady, in Schenectady County. The Authority, which was established under New York State Public Housing Law, is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners. Operating expenditures for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 totaled approximately $9.1 million.

  • Officials implemented specific procedures to ensure that employees were paid salaries and wages to which they were entitled.
