Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our review was to assess the District’s progress, as of November 28, 2011 and January 24, 2012, in implementing our recommendations in the audit report released in March 2007.


The Silver Creek Central School District is located in the Towns of Hanover and Sheridan in Chautauqua County and the Town of Brant in Erie County. The District is governed by the Board of Education which comprises nine elected members. The District’s general fund expenditures, net of payroll, debt service and employee benefits, for the 2004-05 school year were $4.2 million.

Results of Review

  • Based on our limited procedures, we determined that the District has implemented all eight of our audit recommendations.
