Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our audit was to determine whether employee salaries and wages were accurately paid for the period July 1, 2015 through March 31, 2017.

Background

The Albany City School District is located in the City of Albany in Albany County. The District, which is governed by a seven-member Board of Education, has approximately 9,600 students. Budgeted appropriations for the 2016-17 fiscal year totaled approximately $234 million.

Key Finding

  • Except for minor discrepancies which we discussed with District officials, the District accurately calculated and paid gross salaries and wages.

  • There were no written recommendations as a result of this audit.
