Purpose of Audit
The purpose of our audit was to determine if computerized data and assets were properly safeguarded for the period January 1, 2011, to May 15, 2012.
The Town of Fallsburg is located in Sullivan County and has approximately 12,870 residents. The Board of five elected officials including the Town Supervisor governs the Town. The Town's annual budget for 2012 was approximately $18 million.
- Town employees' user rights are not assigned based on job responsibilities and the Town's servers are not located in secure locations.
- A disaster recovery plan has not been adopted including a back-up power source for the servers.
- Establish and implement procedures to ensure that access rights are assigned based on job descriptions and responsibilities.
- Develop and adopt a DRP that includes a provision for the installation of a back-up power source for the servers.
