Released: May 2, 2014 -- [read complete report - pdf]

Purpose of Review

The purpose of our review was to assess the Village’s progress, as of March 2014, in implementing our recommendations in the audit report released in November 2011.

Background

The Village of Harriman is located in Orange County with a population of approximately 2,300. The Village is governed by the Board of Trustees, comprising a Mayor and four Trustees. The Board of Trustees is the legislative body responsible for managing Village operations. The Village’s budgeted appropriations in the general fund were approximately $2.2 million for the 2010-11 fiscal year.

Results of Review

Based on our limited procedures, it appears that the Village has made progress in implementing our recommendations. Of the four audit recommendations, two recommendations were implemented and two recommendations were partially implemented.
