2010 Institute in Partnership with Cornell University:

"Essential Tools for Navigating Turbulent Economic Times"

The New York State Office of the State Comptroller (OSC), in partnership with Cornell University’s Community and Regional Development Institute (CaRDI), sponsored the 2010 OSC Local Government Leadership Institute. The Institute was held in Buffalo, NY, on June 10, 2010, and involved elected and appointed officials located in 22 counties across the western and central regions of New York.

Dr. Nancy L. Zimpher, Chancellor, State University of New York, served as the keynote speaker of this event. Chancellor Zimpher is the 12th chancellor of SUNY, the largest comprehensive system of public higher education in the country. Zimpher is the first woman to be named chancellor in SUNY’s 60-year history.

Through Chancellor Zimpher’s keynote speech, panel discussions, and interactive case studies, the 2010 Institute focused on these topic areas:
