Since becoming State Comptroller, I have worked hard to strengthen my Office’s partnership with local governments. We created the Local Government Leadership Institute in 2009 to provide local officials with a unique venue to exchange ideas and experiences. We continue to assist local governments through our extensive local official training program, audits, research reports, technical assistance, and our Open Book New York and Your Money New York websites, which provide access to information on State and local government spending and useful resources on money-related matters. We recently launched a new section focused on local governments on our Your Money New York website that includes information on how local governments can empower residents though financial education.
