On-line Training for Town and Village Justices and Court ClerksWhat Justice Courts Need to Know About Recordkeeping and ReportingThe Office of the State Comptroller (OSC), in cooperation with the Unified Court System developed an online training module on fiscal recordkeeping for town and village justices and court clerks. Upon successful completion of this one-hour module, justices will receive one continuing education credit, which may be applied as an elective credit toward their 2009 Mandatory Judicial Education requirement. Court Clerks will receive one hour of CORE training for completing this course. The online program is hosted by Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) and sessions are scheduled throughout the year. Justices and court clerks may register with HVCC and enroll in a three-week session during which they may work at their own pace to complete the one-hour module. There is no cost for New York State town and village justice courts to register for the course. The program includes topics such as, recordkeeping, bail overview, audit requirements, and accountability. Use the links below for more information and to register.
