Local Government and School Accountability
A Tutorial for Local Governments and School Districts
This series of modules is designed to help the local government or school district official develop a better working knowledge of cash management. Although vast differences exist in the size and nature of local governments and school districts, and in the dollar value of their investment transactions, the four key topics covered are sufficiently broad enough to apply to any type of government unit.
To help you to discover whether your local government or school district can improve its present cash management and investment system, a self-assessment questionnaire, which can be taken at any time, is provided for each of these areas. The results will allow you to focus on the practices that will provide the best opportunities for improvement. There are also links to an overall discussion and the most important concepts and ideas pertaining to each topic.
