NYS Comptroller

2016 Portfolio Engagements

Message from Comptroller DiNapoli

We continue to achieve remarkable success in our engagements, reaching agreements with over a third of the 46 corporations that we approached with our concerns. Since the U.S. Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling in 2010, I've made it a priority to engage companies to disclose their political spending, and this year six companies answered our call to publicly report all direct and indirect corporate political spending. Our efforts not only improve the policies of the companies we engage, but also help establish a new standards of corporate governance for a number of industries.

46 Shareholder resolutions

We filed shareholder resolutions with 46 companies with a combined portfolio value in excess of $7.2 billion.
