“President Obama delivered a forceful argument for his proposed financial reform agenda. New York needs a strong, profitable Wall Street that’s a viable contributor to our economy, but we also have to control the reckless risk-taking that plunged the global economy into turmoil. We cannot allow a repeat of the past few years. The framework proposed by the president, particularly with regard to the creation of a consumer financial protection agency, will safeguard the interests of the American people.”
