Statement from New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi on NYRA

I'm gratified that the US Attorney and Federal Court are imposing an independent monitor on NYRA and that the US attorney has requested that the monitor report to my office, as I recommended.

We look forward to working with the independent monitor to restore confidence in the NYRA, ensure that the association's officials operate in a fiscally responsible manner, and strengthen the association's finances to allow it to contribute to the State's economy and finances.
