DiNapoli to Audit Albany “No Fine” Parking Tickets
State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli today announced his office would audit the City of Albany’s issuance of “no fine” tickets for parking violations. DiNapoli was requested to perform the audit by members of the Albany Common Council.
“Our auditors have begun steps to initiate the audit,” DiNapoli said. “We will move as expeditiously as possible without compromising the audit process, and we’re confident in the city’s full cooperation.”
A letter from DiNapoli’s office confirming the audit was sent to city officials today. DiNapoli said that while audits typically take between six months and one year, he would take steps to speed up the parking violations audit.
