Statement From State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli on
Pension Contribution Rate Mitigation Bill

While I am disappointed the Senate did not pass the bill, which would have provided critical financial relief to local governments in these difficult times, my office will work with the governor and the legislature to come up with a way to help mitigate increased pension costs for state and local governments to ease the impact on taxpayers. I am confident we will be able to work out a mitigation plan well before the rates take effect.
