State Comptroller DiNapoli’s Statement
on Guilty Pleas in Fraud Investigation
Back in January, my auditors identified more than $1 million in purchases made through improper collusion with vendors and bid rigging at the Central New York Developmental Disabilities Services Office (DDSO).
This week, three of those involved in the fraud pleaded guilty, bringing the total number of convictions in the case to six. I would like to commend the hard work of Oneida County District Attorney Scott D. McNamara and Assistant District Attorney Matt Worth in winning the convictions.
Any misuse of public dollars is unacceptable and must be punished. My office will continue to work with the District Attorney to provide whatever support he needs as he continues to look at the wrongdoing that occurred.
