Assistant Comptroller Honored by National Organization

New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced that Assistant Comptroller Jerry Barber is a recipient of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Tone at the Top Award in recognition of his efforts to help Albany’s AGA chapter become one of the highest performing chapters in the United States.  

“Jerry Barber epitomizes professionalism,” DiNapoli said. “He has worked every day of his career to strengthen accountability, transparency and efficiency in our State Government Accountability unit.  He is a true public servant who’s dedicated to protecting tax dollars.”

Barber, of South Colonie, was instrumental in boosting member participation as his AGA chapter earned high points in the national rankings for volunteerism, professional development and training. He received the award earlier this month at a ceremony at Wolferts Roost Country Club in Albany. A 24-year member of the AGA, Barber oversees the state Comptroller’s Division of State Government Accountability.  He is a certified public accountant, certified information systems auditor and certified government manager.
