DiNapoli to Launch Government Spending Web Site
New Web Site Gives Public Unprecedented Access to State Spending
DiNapoli: “This is the closest thing to real-time financial tracking
the state has ever seen.”
State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli today will unveil a new, easy-to-use Web site providing the public access to how state government is spending tax dollars. The site contains searchable databases of spending by 113 state agencies and more than 60,000 state contracts.
DiNapoli will be joined at the press conference by Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno, E.J. McMahon from the Manhattan Institute, Blair Horner from NYPIRG, Barbara Bartoletti from the League of Women Voters and Bob Ward from the Rockefeller Institute.
