DiNapoli Releases February 2010 Pension Fund Report

Fund Closes Three Transactions Totaling About $76.7 Million

The $129.4 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund (Fund) in February closed three transactions totaling approximately $76.7 million, according to a monthly transaction report State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli released today.

The Fund closed two transactions in its absolute return strategies portfolio totaling $65 million and one transaction in its real estate portfolio totaling $11.7 million. No placement agents were used in the transactions.

DiNapoli publishes monthly transaction reports that detail the nature, size, and parties of Fund investments. The report also indicates whether a third-party placement agent was used in obtaining the Fund investment. This effort is part of DiNapoli’s ongoing commitment to increasing transparency and openness in the operations of the pension fund. Monthly reports dating back to February 2007 are also available online.
