DiNapoli: I'll Look At Voting Problems, Including Voting Machines

State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli today announced that he would review problems at polling places, including electronic voting machines first used during today's primaries, to determine if a full audit is necessary. DiNapoli said he would reach out to New York City Comptroller John Liu to coordinate the review.

"The problems reported today are still anecdotal, but that doesn't make them any less disturbing," DiNapoli said. "If New Yorkers can't vote, or if their vote isn't counted, we have to tackle the problem immediately. There's nothing more fundamental to our democracy than guaranteeing that every vote counts."

DiNapoli said he would immediately assign his auditors to canvass the state to identify voting problems, including any electronic voting machine malfunctions.
