DiNapoli Releases July Transaction Report

Fund Closed Five Transactions Worth Approximately $129.6 Million

The $124.8 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund closed five transactions worth approximately $129.6 million in July, according to a transaction report released today by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.

The Fund reported a $50 million commitment to Blackstone/GSO Capital Solutions in its private equity portfolio, three transactions worth $4.6 million in its real estate portfolio, and a $75 million commitment to Elm Ridge Capital Partners in the absolute returns portfolio. No placement agents were used in any of the transactions.

DiNapoli publishes monthly transaction reports that detail the nature, size, and parties of Fund investments. The report also indicates whether a third-party placement agent was used in obtaining the Fund investment. This effort is part of DiNapoli’s ongoing commitment to increasing transparency and openness in the operations of the pension fund. Monthly reports dating back to February 2007 are also available online.
