We are committed to making the New York State and Local Retirement System’s website accessible to everyone. Our website complies with the guidelines for accessible design in accordance with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the United States Government’s Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

All web pages within the Retirement website:

  • Validate as XHTML 1.0 strict,
  • Comply in full with the W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level A,
  • Comply in part with the W3C’s WCAG 2.0 Level AA and Level AAA, and
  • Comply in full with the Section 508 Guidelines.

Cascading style sheets (CSS) are utilized throughout the site for content and layout presentation. All style sheets validate as CSS level 2.1 through the W3C validation service.

We are also in the process of making all of our PDFs fully accessible.
