New Pension Tier Enacted

Members first joining the Employees’ Retirement System (ERS) or the Police and Fire Retirement System (PFRS) on or after April 1, 2012 are in Tier 6. Current employees in all other tiers are not affected by this legislation. Read more about Tier 6 benefits.

Tier 6 Sick Leave Credit

Non-state employers need to send us collective bargaining agreements that were in effect on April 1, 2012 to determine the correct number of sick leave days for Employees’ Retirement System (ERS) members in Tier 6. Mail them to the attention of Employer Services.

Member Annual Statements Coming Soon

We will mail Member Annual Statements (MAS) in mid-to-late May. The mailing generally takes six weeks to complete. Please remind employees to make sure their information is correct. They should contact us for most changes, but if they believe there’s an error in their reported salary, they should speak with you.
