What Every Employer Should Know

New Employee Notification

Section 45 of the Laws of 1986 mandates that employers must, at the time of initial employment, notify new employees in writing of their right to membership. The law also requires that employees acknowledge having been given such notice by signing a copy of the acknowledgement and filing it with their employer. Employers must keep these documents on file.
