But before you begin, be sure to check out our easy, step-by-step directions (.pdf format) on how to use the benefit calculator.
Many financial planners recommend that to maintain the same standard of living in retirement requires an annual income of 80 percent of pre-retirement income. This can be achieved by using three sources of funds: (1) Pensions, (2) Social Security, and (3) Individual Savings. In addition to estimating the income from these sources, future retirees should contact their employer concerning post retirement health insurance coverage. You may also find our 5 Step Plan for Retirement helpful.
Please note: This benefit projection calculator will project benefits for the Police and Fire Retirement System State Police plan (Section 381-b); 20-year plan (Section 384-d) or 20-year plan with additional benefits (Section 384-e). However, these projected benefits are not valid for Police and Fire Retirement System members whose dates of membership are on or after July 1, 2009.
NOTE: This projection works best on a PC with MS Explorer or Netscape browsers (4.0 or above).
