Retiring With Less Than 25 Years of Service Credit

  • If you retire at age 62 or older with more than 20, but less than 25 years of service credit, the benefit is 1/50th (2 percent) of your FAS for each year of service.
  • If you retire at age 62 or older with less than 20 years of service credit, the benefit will equal 1/60th (1.66 percent) of your FAS for each year of service.
  • If you choose early retirement between the ages of 55 and 62 with less than 25 years of creditable service, your benefit will be reduced for early retirement.
