Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our audit was to evaluate the BOCES’ procurement practices for the period July 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015.

Background

The Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex Board of Cooperative Educational Services is an association of 31 component school districts. Combined, the component districts educate approximately 42,500 students in Washington, Saratoga, Warren, Hamilton and Essex counties. BOCES delivers more than 150 educational and administrative services to its 31 component school districts and is governed by an elected 15-member Board of Education. The BOCES’ 2015-16 fiscal year budget totals approximately $64.7 million.

Key Finding

  • The Board ensured that BOCES officials complied with the procurement policy, and as a result, goods and services were procured in a prudent and economical manner.
