Annual Update Document (Annual Financial Report) Filing Deadlines

Annual Update Document (AUD) due dates have been updated to reflect changes for certain municipalities resulting from the 2020 US Census population data. Changes in due dates are effective beginning Fiscal Year End 2/28/2022.

Counties: All 120 days after fiscal year end No extensions granted
Cities: All
Towns: Population > 20,000
Villages: Population > 20,000
Towns: Population 5,000 - 19,999 90 days after fiscal year end 30-day extension possible.
Written request must be received by OSC from the municipal chief fiscal officer before the end of original filing period.
Villages: Population 5,000 - 19,999
Towns: Population < 5,000 60 days after fiscal year end 60-day extension possible.
Written request must be received by OSC from the municipal chief fiscal officer before the end of original filing period.
Villages: Population < 5,000
Fire Districts: All
Joint Activities: All
Special Purpose Units: All

*Extension requests can be submitted by the CFO in the Annual Financial Reporting application or in a letter signed by the CFO and emailed to [email protected], faxed to (518) 486-3146 or mailed to Office of the State Comptroller, Data Management Unit, 110 State Street 12-8-C, Albany NY 12236.
