2021 Fiscal Stress Monitoring System Scores
Twenty local governments in New York State ended their fiscal year 2021 designated in some form of fiscal stress, down from 30 a year ago.
Local Sales Tax Collections Increase by Nearly 13 Percent in August Over Last Year
Local government sales tax collections in New York State totaled $1.7 billion in August, an increase of 12.6% (or $192 million) compared to the same month last year. A majority of counties saw some year-over-year growth in August collections, while New York City’s collections increased by 20.6%.
