Your monthly report is due to NYSLRS by the seventh day of the month following the report period. For example, the December report is due by January 7. The January report is due in our office by February 7.

Public Safety Overtime

Public safety overtime that’s paid directly by a member’s participating employer, and meets other requirements, is pensionable and needs to be reported to NYSLRS. Use the appropriate overtime earnings codes to include public safety overtime in your monthly reports.


Legacy Reporting

Legacy reporting will be decommissioned in 2024. If your organization hasn’t switched to Enhanced Reporting or scheduled a transition plan with us, email the Retirement Online Gold Certification team. Registering now will ensure you can continue to meet your obligations as a participating employer in the future. And our transition team will provide all the training and support you need to successfully use enhanced reporting.

Post-Retirement Reporting Overview

The Post-Retirement Reporting (PRR) program allows employers of school districts and Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) to report all public retirees on the payroll (including independent contractors/consultants) and provide notification when a retiree earns more than the $35,000 earnings limit.

Public Safety Overtime

Public safety overtime that’s paid directly by a members participating employer, and meets other requirements, is pensionable and needs to be reported to NYSLRS. Legacy reporters should report public safety overtime with other earnings as you normally would in Retirement Online.
