Messaging for Employers

See our COVID-19 Guidance for Employers page for important information about how the COVID-19 emergency may affect your monthly reporting.

To protect the health of our members and employees, Retirement System consultation offices are closed until further notice. To schedule a phone consultation, and for all other inquiries, your employees can contact us at 1-866-805-0990; 518-474-7736 in the Albany, NY area. However, we strongly encourage members to use Retirement Online to do business with NYSLRS at this time.

Later this summer, employer billing-related information will be moving to Retirement Online. This will include salary listings, prior years’ adjustments (PYAs), GASB information, estimates, and projections.

The Retirement Online Billing Dashboard will replace the RIR application currently used to obtain employer billing information. Training materials will be provided to help users access and navigate the new dashboard features.

By August 1, the location Security Administrator will need to assign the billing security role to any employer contacts who will need to view the employer billing information. For instructions on assigning the billing security role, see this document: Request Security Roles in Retirement Online. If you have questions about assigning the billing security role, please email us or call 866-805-0990, select option 1 and then option 7.
