Beware of Scam Messages Targeting Retirees

Scammers are targeting NYSLRS retirees with text messages and other communications asking for a payment to "upgrade" the pension fund. These fraudulent messages do not come from NYSLRS or the Office of the State Comptroller. If you have received such a message, report it immediately to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov or the OSC fraud hotline at 1-888-672-4555. Read more.

Don’t wait to receive a check in the mail in this uncertain time. Sign up for our Direct Deposit Program and get your money sooner.

With Direct Deposit, your retirement benefits are deposited directly into your bank account. It is quick and safe, and in most cases, your money is available immediately; no more waiting for a check in the mail.
