It’s important to keep your contact information up to date with NYSLRS. Having your current mailing address, phone number and email address on file ensures you will receive the tax information, news, correspondence and statements that we send you.
If you don’t already have an email address on file, please provide it so that we can contact you quickly if we need to notify you about important information such as a change to your benefits. Use a personal email address that you will have access to before and after you retire, rather than a work email address.
You can update your contact information using Retirement Online or by phone, mail or email.
Note for retirees: If you do not use direct deposit for your pension payments, please be aware that the United States Postal Service will only forward your benefit check and other correspondence to a new address for a limited time (assuming you have filed a change of address request with them).
Use Retirement Online
Retirement Online is the fastest and easiest way to view and update your contact information with NYSLRS. Sign in to Retirement Online, find your mailing address, phone number or email address under ‘My Profile Information’ and click “update.”
You can also use Retirement Online to tell us how you prefer to receive correspondence. If you choose email, we’ll send an email notifying you to sign in to Retirement Online when you have correspondence to view. Please note that certain correspondence may be sent by mail for security purposes.
Mail a Paper Form
You can update your mailing address, phone number and email address using the Change of Address form (RS5512). Complete the form and mail it to:

Use Our Secure Contact Form
You can update your contact information by using our secure contact form. Be sure to fill out the entire contact form and provide both your old and new contact information. You should receive a response within 5 to 7 business days.
Note: If you are updating your mailing address and your new address is a PO box or is located outside of the United States, you cannot change your address using the contact form.
